Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher System
WEAPON SYSTEM OVERVIEW
Pinaka is an indigenous multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) developed by DRDO's Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE). A complete Pinaka battery comprises six launcher vehicles, each with 12 rockets, supported by command post vehicles and fire control radar. Pinaka delivers devastating saturation bombardment over a 1 square kilometer area in under one minute.
STRATEGIC DETERRENCE & COMBAT ROLE
Pinaka has emerged as one of India's flagship defence export and indigenous success stories. The guided Pinaka rocket utilizes satellite navigation (NavIC/GPS) and aerodynamic canards to achieve circular error probable (CEP) under 10 meters at ranges up to 90 km, effectively transforming unguided area bombardment into precision surgical strike artillery.
