Sukhoi Su-30MKI "Flanker-H" Heavy Air Dominance Fighter
WEAPON SYSTEM OVERVIEW
The Su-30MKI is a twin-engine, two-seat super-maneuverable air superiority fighter customized specifically for the Indian Air Force. Featuring canard foreplanes and 3D thrust-vectoring AL-31FP engines, the Su-30MKI is capable of post-stall aerobatics such as the Pugachev's Cobra and Herbst maneuver. The Indian variant integrates French avionics, Israeli EW pods, and Indian mission computers.
STRATEGIC DETERRENCE & COMBAT ROLE
Representing over 50% of the IAF's combat fleet across 14 frontline squadrons, the Su-30MKI controls Indian airspace from the Himalayas to the Southern Indian Ocean. The ongoing 'Super Sukhoi' modernization program equips the fleet with indigenous 'Virupaksha' AESA radar, new electronic warfare jammers, and Astra Mk-2/Mk-3 missiles.
