ENTERPRISE OVERVIEW
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is the crown jewel of India's defence aerospace industrial base. Operating 20 production divisions and 11 research and design centers across India, HAL is the sole domestic producer of fixed-wing combat aircraft, attack helicopters, and aero-engines for the Indian Armed Forces.
MANUFACTURING & INDUSTRIAL FOOTPRINT
HAL operates state-of-the-art production lines capable of manufacturing 24 Tejas fighters annually, alongside dedicated helicopter facilities in Tumakuru producing Prachand LCH and ALH Dhruv. HAL also manufactures advanced Sukhoi Su-30MKI airframes, AL-31FP and Shakti engines, and aerospace structures for ISRO space launch vehicles.
STRATEGIC SOVEREIGNTY ROLE
HAL is the primary manufacturing hub executing India's transition to sovereign air combat supremacy. As the production lead for Tejas Mk1A, Tejas Mk-2, Prachand, and the upcoming 5th-generation AMCA fighter, HAL's capacity directly governs the IAF and Naval combat fleet strength.
