ENTERPRISE OVERVIEW

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), affectionately termed 'Ship Builder to the Nation', is India's premier naval defence shipyard. Located in Mumbai, MDL has constructed over 800 vessels, including the Indian Navy's most lethal guided missile destroyers, stealth frigates, and Scorpène-class attack submarines.

MANUFACTURING & INDUSTRIAL FOOTPRINT

MDL features world-class modular warship construction docks, specialized submarine assembly shops with heavy cranes, and wet basins capable of building and outfitting up to 10 capital warships and 4 submarines simultaneously.

STRATEGIC SOVEREIGNTY ROLE

MDL is the backbone of the Indian Navy's surface combatant and conventional submarine force. It is the designated shipyard for Project 15B destroyers, Project 17A stealth frigates, and the forthcoming Project 75-I advanced submarines.
